Hydro Flask and Splore Partnering for a Cause

Winter OR 2014 – January 22-25

Each summer and winter, the outdoor industry descends on Salt Lake City for the Outdoor Retailer Show. This semi-annual outdoor gear trade show hosts leading equipment retailers, manufacturers and outdoor industry professionals, who all come together to introduce, learn about, test, discuss and order the newest gear and innovations.

Hydro Flask was in attendance, along with Splore, a non-profit organization based in Salt Lake City that provides people with disabilities and disadvantages access to outdoor recreation and adventure. This year, Hydro Flask and Splore teamed up twice to raise a total of more than $2,200  to support Splore’s mission and adventure programs.

Hydro Flask + Bohemian Brewery Happy Hour

On day three of the trade show, Hydro Flask and Bohemian Brewery collaborated to host a Happy Hour event on behalf of Splore. It was a huge success! Besides sharing tasty brews, Splore gave away prizes from its partners and raised over $1,000!

Hydro Flask Sale

The final day of Outdoor Retailer was abuzz with activity as crowds lined up for the annual Hydro Flask sale. This year, Hydro Flask sold its bottles at a discount and donated all of the proceeds of the sale to Splore, raising over $1,200 for Spore’s outdoor adventure programs. Great deals for a great cause!

Jingle Bells (Hydro Flask Edition)

Hydro Flask Holiday Video Contest:

At the beginning of the week, we ran a Holiday Caroling Video Contest through our Hydro Flask Holiday Calendar. Participants had about 3 days to submit a video of themselves, along with friends and/or family, on the Hydro Flask Facebook page. The morning after the contest deadline, Hydro Flask employees arrived at work to discover this video posted on the company Facebook page:

Jingle Bells (Hydro Flask Edition)

Wow! This video was way above and beyond anything we expected when we came up with the idea for a video contest. The video quickly circulated around the staff via e-mail, with the subject line: “Stop what you’re doing and watch this video right now!” We were truly impressed by the creativity and talent of our friends in North Carolina. The group was kind enough to give us a few more details about themselves and the making of the video, which we are excited to share with the rest of our friends.

When we were meeting with our missional community this week, I told Drew about the contest, and we decided to do it then and there with our whole group! After figuring out the lyrics, we whipped out our iPhones, so we could have several different angles. After a few takes, we were all set to edit!”

Hydro Flask Holiday Hours

Happy Holidays! We at Hydro Flask would like to wish all of our friends, customers and fans a happy, safe and wonderful Holiday Season. We would also like to let you know about a few changes to our office hours during the coming weeks.

Hydro Flask’s offices will be closed on the following dates:

  • Christmas Eve: December 24, 2013
  • Christmas Day: December 25, 2013
  • New Year’s Eve: December 31, 2013
  • New Year’s Day: January 1, 2014

In addition, our warehouse will be closed for physical inventory from January 2 – 5, 2014, with shipping resuming on January 6th. Any order placed on or before Friday, December 27, 2012, should ship out before the start of physical inventory. In addition, it may take a few days to catch up on orders placed while the warehouse is closed. We thank you in advance for your patience through this process!

Though our old web site served us well, we have grown and our brand has evolved thanks to the support of customers like you. Of course we also wanted to create better online experience for our customers. The new Hydro Flask site offers a one-stop shop to engage with our brand. Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal Winners

Great American Beer Festival LogoThe 2013 Great American Beer Festival wrapped up Saturday, October 12, in Denver, Colorado, after 3 days of tasting and competition among the largest number and widest variety of hand-crafted products in the American beer industry. Put on by the Brewers Association every year since 1982, the Great American Beer Festival is the American brewing industry’s top public tasting opportunity and competition, and according to the Guinness Book of World Records®, there is no other place on earth where a beer aficionado can find more beers on tap.

This year, Hydro Flask was in attendance, showcasing our 64 oz Beer Growler in the newest color available, Copper Brown. Our 64 oz Beer Growler is the first insulated growler of its kind, and perfect for keeping your beer frosty cold.

A big part of the Festival is the beer competition, in which breweries enter their beers to be judged by a Professional Judge Panel for a specified style category. There are 75 beer-style categories, and the Professional Judge Panel awards gold, silver or bronze medals based on excellence in each category. Among the most coveted in the industry, these awards are not given lightly, and they are recognized around the world as a symbol of brewing excellence. The Award Criteria for Gold is: “A world-class beer that accurately exemplifies the specified style, displaying the proper balance of taste, aroma and appearance.”

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness BannerOctober is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual health campaign organized by major charities, including the American Cancer Society, aimed at increasing awareness of the disease and raising funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure, as well as providing support for those affected by breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, and about 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. However, thanks to the American Cancer Society and dramatic improvements in cancer research, treatment and early detection, millions of women are surviving breast cancer today.

Hydro Flask is showing its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering a limited edition, pink 21 oz Breast Cancer Awareness bottle.
